An Overview of Dental Bonding

Dr. Robert Madden received his DDS from the University of Nebraska Medical Center College of Dentistry and an MBA from the University of Colorado. A member of the Metropolitan Denver Dental Association, Dr. Robert Madden currently provides bonding and other services as a dentist and owner of Southwest Family Dentistry in Littleton.

Bonding is one of the most straightforward methods of repair available to dentists when it comes to minor chips or cracks in a person’s teeth. Bonding can also be used to strengthen and repair teeth that have been damaged as a result of decay. During the bonding process, dental professionals make use of various composite resins composed of glass and plastic, which give the color and appearance of natural teeth. These materials are carefully grafted against the remaining tooth, allowing an individual to cover up any breaks or areas of discoloration. Sometimes bonding can even be used as a remedy for slight spacing issues. Following a successful procedure, the new material literally bonds and becomes one with the tooth, providing patients with a strong tooth and a healthy look.
